Prior to owning her own firm, Diehl worked both as an executive vice president and general counsel in a private corporate higher education business setting where she was responsible for overseeing projects in organizational structure and design, regulatory change management, acquisitions, intellectual property, grants management, and financing. Diehl and her family moved to Martinsburg in 2004 with a goal of contributing to the State's economic and intellectual capital development initiatives.
Diehl continues her work in West Virginia at Diehl Law by contributing to the state's small business community. She assists small businesses in start-up activities including corporate formation and the establishment of small business structures, lease review and negotiation, policy formation and development, regulatory compliance, and brand development. She is a strong believer in the importance of a sound and stable small business community for healthy regional and national economies.
Diehl is committed to community involvement, serving on a number of community boards including the Berkeley County Economic Development Authority, the Inland Port Coalition, Ryan Film Institute, the Region VII Workforce Investment Board, and is also the co-chair of the Women’s Advisory Board to the Girl Scouts Council of the Nation's Capital. She is committed educational programs designed to prepare and promote women for leadership positions in their communities and careers, and to the advancement of economic development and growth initiatives for the State of West Virginia in its greater metropolitan Washington, D.C. quad-state region.
Diehl completed her bachelor’s degree at Concord University in Athens, West Virginia, and her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from West Virginia University's College of Law. She is licensed to practice law in the State of West Virginia and has been admitted to practice in the bars of Nicholas, Raleigh, and Berkeley Counties, the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. Her personal philosophy is oriented in service to community through the collaboration of common interests. She serves on a number of community boards, primarily those associated with business, economic development, and social service opportunities in the greater quad-state region.
